As the ancient capital of China, Xi'an has a rich history that extends well beyond the Terra Cotta Warriors. In the walled city of Xian, tour the doorway to the Silk Road and discover the rich ancient history it has to offer.
The Xian city tour begins at the doors at your hotel, where you will be picked up and transported by an air-conditioned coach service to the Shaanxi History Museum. Shaanxi is the province that houses Xi'an, and the museum provides a wealth of incredible information on the history of the well-protected, rich ancient city. Your professional guide will enrich you with Xian's history from Qin Shihuang all the way to the present day. Afterward, you will travel to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda to tour a major symbol of the city. The Tang-era Buddhist pagoda features a massive, seven-story pyramid that is sure to drop your mouth to the floor.
Next, you will have the chance to traverse the great city wall of Xi'an. The wall protects a city area of about seven and a half square miles, and the walls are 12 feet, high, giving you a nice view of Xi'an from above. From here, your guide will lead you to your last stop, the Great Mosque. The mosque is built completely in a Chinese style. Although it is the oldest mosque in all of China, it still continues to be a place of worship for Chinese Muslims today.
A Chinese-style lunch will be included in a stop with the group over the course of the Xi'an full day city tour. At the end of the tour of Xi'an, you will have had a comprehensive experience of the city and its entire history, especially if you have visited the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors. You will be left completely satisfied and educated when you walk off the bus back at your hotel at the end of the trip.
